Flowers, an important part of the Chinese New Year's Decorations, can be found in every home during the Chinese New Year. Besides being beautiful, the flowers used each have their own traditional meaning which is important to the success and luck of the year ahead. The flowers can be found in markets throughout China before the Chinese New Year. Many of the flowers can also be found integrated into Papercuts, Hongbao and New Year's Prints' designs.
A flower of special note is the Plum Blossom. The Plum Blossom is usually associated with winter, but is also a part of New Year's festivities. The Plum Blossom is considered special because the flowers bloom around the time of Chinese New Year and explode in color on what seemed a bare lifeless branch. The flower symbolizes courage and hope during adversity.
