The Cow is the second animal in the Chinese Zodiac. The animal for this year is most commonly translated as Cow, but Ox and Water Buffalo are also used. In traditional Chinese Culture the Cow is considered to be hard working, trustworthy, and simple. Farmers traditionally wanted to have children who were born during the year of the Cow because it was believed that they would work hard and eat little.
