The Snake is the sixth animal in the Chinese Zodiac. Although in Western Culture the Snake is greatly feared, in China the Snake is looked upon differently. Many people also fear the snakes, but they are considered wise and a bringer of good luck. In Fujian Province if a snake is found in a family's house, they do not try to kill it. It is believed that the Snake was sent by the family's ancestors to patrol the house and bring the family a peaceful and happy life.
