Upon your arrival at Hong Kong, a vibrant metropolis, our local guide will hold a welcome sign to meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you. You may either rest to recover from jetlag at hotel, or head out to this world-renowned shopaholics' paradise.
Today, you will explore Hong Kong's unique blending of Chinese heritages and colonial influences. You will first visit the Victoria Peak located on the mountain with an altitude of 552 meters. It provides you a spectacular bird's-eye view of Hong Kong's famous skyline.
Then, you will visit the floating community of Aberdeen, which is a harbor area crowded with junks and sampans, where 6,000 people live and work on junks.
Your third stop today is the Repulse Bay, one of the most famous and beautiful beaches in Hong Kong.
You next stop is the famous Wong Tai Sin Temple. It is one of the most famous temples in Hong Kong and is extremely popular during the Chinese New Year. Many worshipers would wait outside the temple before the New Year' Eve. It is believed that the earlier they offer the incense, the luckier they will be through the year to come.
Jade Market in Kowloon is your last stop today. If you are a jade lover, it sure is an ideal place to buy all kinds of jade crafts and jewelries. However, you need to bargain hard!
Free in the day until our local guide escorts you to the airport for your flight to Guilin. Your tour guide in Guilin will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. On the way, you will receive a Chinese way of New Year greeting, a Red Packet (a red envelope enclosed ￥50 lucky money), a Chinese New Year Painting, and a Chinese Knot, from your lovely and considerate tour guide. After breakfast, you will be driven to Zhujiang Pier (40-minute drive) to start your boat cruise down the picturesque Li River, which is the highlight of any visit to Guilin, until you get to Yangshuo County. Along the river, you will be inspired by breathtaking views of Karst peaks and pinnacles, crystal-clear water and picturesque pastoral views of rice paddies and water buffaloes. Visitors feel they have stepped into a traditional Chinese painting.
After checking into your hotel, you will have a very special cooking class to make dumplings and other Chinese dishes. Your cooking teacher will accompany you to a local market to purchase the ingredients needed. Dumpling is a necessary food during Spring Festival in China. Today you will be driven back to Guilin (1.5-hour drive) and visit some of its most famous sites. Elephant Trunk Hill is alike a giant elephant drinking water from the Li River. It is vivid and considered the symbol of the Guilin City.
Reed Flute Cave, with magically illuminated stalactites and stalagmites, is one of the most beautiful Karst caves in the region.
Your lunch will be served at a restaurant making excellent local cuisine. You will be enjoying some of the most delicious local New Year dishes, such as glutinous rice dumpling in soup and rice cake. Chinese New Year dishes usually have auspicious names. Glutinous rice dumpling is also called Tang-yuan. In Chinese it means reunion and everything goes smoothly. Thereby eating Tang-yuan is considered bringing good luck. After lunch, your local guide will escort you to the airport for your flight to Chengdu.
Upon arrival at Chengdu, your tour guide in Chengdu will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. You will have the famous hot spicy "Tongue Numbing" Sichuan dishes for your dinner. Get your mouth and tongue prepared for the challenge.
On this day you will be driven about 2 hours to Leshan to visit the Giant Buddha carved out of the cliffs at the confluence of the Dadu, Minjiang and Qingyi Rivers.
You will be taken to Mt. Emei to visit Baoguo Temple, where is famous for the ancient bronze bell.
You will stay overnight at the foot of Mt. Emei. It is the highest of China's four holy Buddhist Mountains. It is well-known for its sunrise, sea of clouds and the adorable monkeys. Enjoy your stay in Mt. Emei.
Today you will tour the Mt. Emei to see its extraordinary natural scenery by taking the cable car up to the Golden Summit and the Wannian Temple. Then you will walk to Qingyinge - China's biggest natural ecology reserve area for monkeys before back to Chengdu.
The tour on this day will bring you to the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base first. You will see many adorable pandas in close distance, even get chance to cradle baby pandas in your arms.
Followed by a trip to the Wenshu Temple where you can spend some time sitting in its tea house to have a cup of tea and absorb the special leisure atmosphere of Chengdu.
China celebrates the first full moon of the year with Spring Lantern. This festivities is called Chinese New Year Lantern Festival, So in the evening, you could enjoy the lunar New Year's exhibit of lanterns in the park. When you tired or hungry, you could relax yourself with the delicious local snacks，and appreciate the folk shows. It is a good chance to view real life of Chinese people today.
