New Year Stilt Walking

Originating in the north of China Stilt Walking is a unique performance art. Groups of performers get together and perform in unison to live music. Stilt Walking has a history of thousands of years and was originally a form of travel during rainy seasons. Over the centuries it evolved into a lively art form which features clowns, warriors, maidens, and old men characters. Several up to dozens of performers can be seen working together to entertain people during China's New Year festival. Come to enjoy the funy stilt walking in Chinese ancient city Pingyao.
